Product Description
Sternglas was founded by Dustin Fontaine in Hamburg in 2016. Fontaine worked in a small watch manufactory in his student years and this experience sparked his passion for watchmaking. The brand focuses on minimalism and quality and aims to make good design accessible to everyone. The ‘glas’ element of the brand’s name refers to the sapphire glass lens that is built into every watch that the brand creates. Fontaine chose this name for his brand to honour the strong history of German watchmaking. Despite being a relatively new name in the watch industry, Sternglas is a very well-respected brand that creates high-quality timepieces.
Core Features of the Sternglas Hamburg Collection:
- The Hamburg watches each feature a domed sapphire crystal to protect the dial. This has a double anti-reflective coating.
- All watches in the Hamburg collection have a date aperture at the 6 o’clock positioning.
- Each Hamburg watch has a quick-change strap system that allows the wearer to give their timepiece a new loon whenever they please, with no tools required.
- Every watch in the collection is also water resistant up to 50 metres or 5 bars.

- This watch features a silver-stained dial.
- COnstraining the dial are black hour, minute and second hands. The hands also have white detailing.
- The hour and minute hands are luminescent. A luminescent dot marking at the four main indices also improves readability in low-light conditions.
- Both Arabic numeral indices and slim baton indices adorn the dial.
- For extra-precise timekeeping, there are also minute and second markers on the outer ring of the dial.
- Framing the dial is a polished 316L stainless steel case. It measures 42mm in diameter and 12mm in thickness.
- A special feature of this model is the fine-engraved case back, which exhibits a detailed depiction of Hamburg.
- This timepiece is powered by a Miyota 8215 automatic movement, which offers a 42-hour power reserve and has a frequency of 21,600 A/h.
- This watch is finished with a vintage mocha-brown, genuine cowhide leather strap. The band width measures 20mm.

Delivery & Returns
We aim for you to be absolutely delighted with your purchase and therefore offer you 30 days to change your mind on your purchase. You may do this by using the form provided with your order or otherwise. We will provide a refund of all payment received (not including delivery upgrades), usually within 2 working days of receiving your return (it may take a little longer during busy periods or for more complex returns). This will be made to the original payment method. For most payment methods it will take 3-5 working days for this to show on your statement.
Please ensure items from your order are suitable before wearing as we are unable to accept items which have been worn under our returns policy.
Returns are free on all UK orders. For orders under £500, you may generate a free tracked and insured returns label on the Royal Mail website (opens in a new window). You can print this label and send it back at any local Post Office at no cost to yourself. It is also possible to have the label printed at Post Office using the QR code from the confirmation email. Please retain the proof of postage receipt. Unfortunately we are unable to refund return postage for orders under £500 sent back by other methods, so we recommend printing the free postage label provided. For orders over £500, the Royal Mail label does not cover the value of the item, so please send it back by Royal Mail Special Delivery, insured for its full value, and we will reimburse the postage separately (please keep your proof of postage — full details are on your receipt). Alternatively, contact us and we can arrange a collection. For international returns, you will need to bear the cost of returns postage. Please ensure the watch is returned to us in an unworn, new condition with all the original packaging (manufacturer's manual and guarantee if applicable). Please ensure items from your order are suitable before wearing as we are unable to accept items which have been worn under our returns policy. We reserve the right to make deductions for unnecessary damage caused to the product by yourself.
For UK orders we are also able to offer an exchange to a different product if required, please specify this when returning your product. For international orders, please return the item for a refund and place a new order for the product you would like.
If a fault develops with a watch that is outside of the 30 day returns period or is no longer in a new condition the watch can be returned to the manufacturer under the terms of the guarantee (we are an official UK dealer for all brands on our website) so that they can rectify any issues.
